Not the kind of art I usually reblog, but this is striking and powerful in a way I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe it’s because with so much of their faces out of frame, the eye gets drawn to the body language - Kurt’s throat-bared vulnerability; Blaine’s arching desperation. Also, hands.
Absolutely lovely.
I wish more people would describe what they like about fanart. Because I look at this, and I think, “ooh, pretty.” But what dyrnekeeper wrote in response to the image actually makes me think about why it’s pretty, and is a tiny little bit of art education. And I love that.

Kurt and Blaine were just taking one of their regular strolls in Central Park when they happened to hear a small pitiful meow coming from the ground. When they looked down they noticed a cardboard box sitting by the edge of the sidewalk with a little kitten inside. Kurt had to admit it was one of the cutest kittens he’d ever seen, even cuter than some of the kittens in the YouTube videos he liked to watch. The kitten was a grey-ish tan with very dark brown strips, had a cute little button nose, and was looking up at the two of them with most gorgeous vivid green eyes that were just begging to be loved. The kitten let out another pathetic meow and then suddenly Blaine was on his knees petting the little cat. The kitten automatically started to purr and rub against Blaine’s hand, butting its head in a sign of affection. Kurt had to admit the sight was on of the most adorable things he had ever seen. Then the kitten gave a short little lick to Blaine’s hand, causing him to let out a squeal of excitement. Blaine looked up at Kurt, giving him his legendary puppy eyes, pleading to bring the kitten home. The begging “pleaseeeee” that Blaine then released, on top of the puppy eyes, made it impossible for Kurt to say no. So Kurt just shook his head a little in amusement, chuckled, and gave into Blaine’s request.
The next hour or so were a blur of cat food, brushes, mouse toys, and cries of “Oh Kurt, but he will never be happy unless he has this!”
A few hours later found Kurt and Blaine on their bed with the newest addition to their family. Kurt was propped up on his side looking lovingly at his adorkable boyfriend, while said boyfriend played with the little kitten on his chest. The kitten let out a huge yawn, squinting his little eyes and opening his mouth wide open. The yawn initiated one the biggest smiles from Blaine that Kurt had ever seen. Kurt’s own face lit up even more at the smile on his boyfriend face and couldn’t help but conclude that yeah, I think I’ll keep him.
